CLOPHILL PARISH PLAN is led by a Steering Group of 12 local volunteers. The creation of the Parish Plan allows us as a village a genuine input and influence into the future development of Clophill. The plan should identify and prioritise those new facilities and services we require, as well as highlighting all aspects of the village we wish to preserve and protect from future development. The fact it is a government initiative, actively promoted by the council, means opinions or proposals the village makes within it, carry far more weight than any made outside of it. Our Remit: - To set out the community’s aspirations (the what, why and how) for its future over the short, medium and long term
- To enhance the social, environmental and economic well being of all inhabitants
- To consult with as many of you, in the parish, as are willing
- To link with the wider community and other parishes including Maulden, Silsoe, Haynes and Campton
- To explore projects both inside and outside the remit and powers of the Parish Council as well as to support the community to achieve projects on their own
- To identify those we need to persuade to assist us and the criteria we need to meet to enable them to do so
- To perform analysis of all of your ideas, prioritising them based on popularity and affordability/practicality
- To create an ‘action plan’ identifying who would be best to carry out the activities and to support them as required
- To present the ‘action plan’ to the Council and assist in implementation as required
- To monitor the ‘action plan’ over a longer period to ensure that it remains a ‘living and working document’
Key Messages: - We will try to consult as widely as we possibly can. If you, as an individual or group, have not yet been contacted then please help us by making the first move!
- We are always looking for additional help. We would like to thank those of you who have already offered your services. If you would like to volunteer then please contact one of the Steering Group (See details below)
- We are a voluntary group. All of us have ‘day jobs’, please accept the fact that we will not always have the time to perform like a commercial enterprise!
Our Process: - There will be 2 types of questionnaires sent to each household in the village
- The first questionnaire will be a simple open one to note all new ideas, praise and changes which people would like to voice.
- The second will be more detailed and formatted, using the responses from the first questionnaire, to facilitate data collection and analysis.
- We are meeting with local groups and will continue to do so over the next 12-18 months
- We will hold a ‘Planning for Real’ event where people can chat about their ideas and add their points on a large scale map of the village (and enjoy a BBQ!)
- We will try to hold focus group sessions where people can attend an open meeting of a topic which they are particularly interested in.
- We will have an interactive web site allowing people to feed us ideas as well as look up information and complete questionnaires
- We will have a period of consultation after the draft action plan has been formulated to allow input and feedback
